Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Safety Manager to join our construction team. The Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs and policies to ensure a safe working environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors on construction sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction safety, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential hazards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safety Program Development:
   
• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs and policies in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations (OSHA, etc.).
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards.
2. Training & Education:
   
• Organize and conduct safety training sessions for employees, subcontractors, and site personnel.
• Ensure all workers are trained on proper safety protocols, equipment usage, and emergency procedures.
3. Risk Assessment & Hazard Mitigation:
   
• Identify potential safety hazards and risks on construction sites.
• Develop and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and prevent accidents.
4. Incident Investigation:
   
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses to determine root causes.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and recommend preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
5. Regulatory Compliance:
   
• Stay updated on changes in safety regulations and ensure company compliance.
• Maintain all required safety documentation and records.
6. Safety Culture Promotion:
   
• Foster a culture of safety awareness and accountability across all levels of the organization.
• Encourage proactive reporting of safety concerns and suggestions for improvement.
7. Emergency Preparedness:
   
• Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures.
• Conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness for emergencies such as fires, chemical spills, or medical incidents.
8. Communication & Collaboration:
   
• Liaise with project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors to address safety concerns and ensure alignment with safety goals.
• Communicate safety performance and initiatives to senior management.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST, OSHA 30-Hour) are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction safety management, with a proven track record of implementing effective safety programs.
• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and best practices.
• Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
