Job Description
An AC Technician in the hotel industry is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and servicing air conditioning systems to ensure a comfortable environment for guests and staff. This role involves troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and responding to emergency issues related to HVAC systems. The technician works closely with hotel maintenance teams and management to ensure high-quality service and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities: - Installation and Setup:
- Install, replace, and commission air conditioning and ventilation systems (split, central, and window units) in guest rooms, common areas, kitchens, and other hotel facilities.
- Ensure systems are compliant with all safety standards and energy-efficiency regulations.
- Routine Maintenance:
- Perform regular preventive maintenance (PM) to ensure HVAC systems are functioning optimally.
- Clean, inspect, and change filters, belts, and fans in air conditioning units.
- Check refrigerant levels and ensure proper functioning of cooling and heating systems.
- Troubleshooting and Repairs:
- Diagnose and repair faults in air conditioning and ventilation systems, including electrical components, motors, compressors, thermostats, and fans.
- Respond to guest and management complaints regarding room temperature or air quality, ensuring swift resolution of any issues.
- Ensure minimal disruption to guests by quickly identifying and fixing AC-related problems.
- Customer Service:
- Provide timely and courteous service to hotel guests, addressing their comfort needs and resolving any HVAC-related complaints.
- Maintain a professional appearance and communicate effectively with guests and hotel staff.
- Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor energy usage and suggest improvements to improve energy efficiency in the hotel s AC systems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, repairs, and system performance.
- Report on any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or replacement needs to the hotel s management team.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other members of the hotel s maintenance team to ensure smooth operations of all hotel facilities.
- Coordinate with housekeeping, front desk, and other departments to ensure timely response to guest concerns.
- Compliance:
- Follow all hotel safety protocols and local building codes.
- Ensure proper handling of refrigerants and other chemicals in accordance with legal and environmental standards.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulations affecting HVAC systems.
- Experience:
- Proven experience as an AC Technician, preferably in the hotel or hospitality industry.
- Familiarity with air conditioning systems, refrigeration units, heating systems, and ventilation equipment.
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical components.
High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require vocational training or certification in HVAC or a related field).
