Senior Engineer - Component Engineer + Electrical CAD Harness design

Job Responsibilities:

To provide technical expertise and support for products, equipment, and systems, by:

• Be accountable for the validation of selected components on our different project and provide feedback where applicable. Be a main actor of PPL strategy. Working with the other IDC of THALES SIX and THALES Group (Codification of new components)
• Suggest alternative components when something suitable exists in the Thales preferred parts list, or already exists in the Thales component library. Find the best component solution with the designer and the purchase who respect THALES SIX components strategies
• Providing technical advice and assistance for the development team (HwE, Designer, )
• Identify Obsolescence and other issues and provide replacement/alternative parts/components to meet project/customer reliability, safety and legislative requirements and to give feedback information to THALES SIX and to THALES Group
• Guarantee conformity to European legislative compliance and European environmental standard
• Management of data within supported Thales tools

Skills Required

• Must have experience in solution proposals on the interconnections, wiring, component packing and printed circuit board.
• Must have experience with contents of product Data package (Data files, Definition files, Bill of Material or item list, Documents, components, COTS, Find number, material & processes and standards).
• Must have experience in wiring harness design and manufacturing requirement of wiring harness/cable harness.
• Must have experience in wiring harness testing and inspection requirements.
• Must have experience knowledge in WHMA-620 or IPC-620 standard to define the wiring harness design requirement and quality requirements.
• Must have knowledge of military and aerospace standards (like DO 160, MIL STD 461,..) for the wiring harness design
• Must have hands on experience in SEE ELECTRICAL EXPERT and Microsoft Visio
• Should have experience of working with mutli-disciplinary team (Electronics Design, Mechanical design and system engineering teams).

Essential

• CAD Tools working knowledge:

Mandatory: SEE ELECTRICAL EXPERT, MS-VISIO 2016,

• Design Standards:

Mandatory: WHMA-620, IPC-610, MIL-Standards for wiring harness

• Strong background of Wiring Harness Design Standards & components knowledge of electrical and wiring harness
• Has manufacturing knowledge of cable harness and industry exposure is preferred.
• Basic project cost estimations, Project planning, execution and deployment.

Years of experience

3 to 5 years of experience in wiring harness design and manufacturing industries.

• Degree level education or significant experience in Electro technical engineering
• Must have experience in solution proposals on the interconnections, wiring, component packing and printed circuit board.
• Understanding of REACH/RoHS/Conflict Materials and how they affect obsolescence/replacement part selection
• Understanding of the Environmental standard such as D0160, MILSTD 810 F, .
• Understanding of the EMC phenomenon
• Good English verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Thales supported Tools would be an advantage
