The Membership Events Manager Curator will be the creative leader responsible for conceptualizing, planning, and executing innovative, high-quality events that connect and engage the EDGE Community across all three cities. This role will focus predominantly on EDGE, with selective involvement in TEDxGateway during major events. The role involves leading the strategic direction of event programming, ensuring alignment with EDGE s vision, and collaborating with city coordinators to deliver a cohesive and impactful calendar of events.

Key Responsibilities: Event Curation Strategy: Lead member events and house programming to connect the creative membership community through hyper-local storytelling achieved by creating diverse and innovative experiences that result in positive feedback. Conceive unconventional and memorable member events (e.g., booking talent for a unique event, building unique retreats or taking everyone bowling). Develop and lead the overarching events strategy across cities, aligning with the EDGE Community s vision of fostering thought leadership and meaningful connections. Curate diverse, innovative, and impactful events that cater to member interests, ranging from panel discussions to experiential gatherings. Identify trends, cultural moments, and unique ideas that resonate with members Propose trends, technology, and leading innovations for new event formats (including digital) Collaborate with the team on themes and installations for big events.
Coordination Across Cities: Act as the central point of contact for Member Event Coordinators in each city, ensuring alignment on programming and event quality. Build, review and approve event plans, budgets, and vendor proposals prepared by city coordinators. Work across all cross-functional teams: Operations, design, content, creative, digital, events, and partnerships to deliver on all strategic objectives.
Talent Partnerships: Build a robust database of speakers, performers, bands, name talent, and collaborators for events, capturing the current cultural zeitgeist. Identify opportunities for strategic partnerships with brands, organizations, and individuals to enhance event experiences. Facilitate events by connecting members to other members and creating opportunities for events to be hosted by members.
Budget Management Oversight: Prepare and manage the annual events budget, ensuring cost-effective planning and execution across all cities. Regularly track expenses and ensure adherence to budgets. Create systems to track the booking and forward planning of events so that deadlines and budgets are always met.
Community Engagement: Act as the face of the EDGE Community at events, fostering meaningful relationships with members. Inspire members, talent, and all EDGE teams when meeting to create and implement events. Ensure innovative events and programming are united around our global monthly themes. Create opportunities for members to contribute to or host events.
Measurement Feedback: Evaluate event success using member feedback, attendance metrics, and qualitative insights to inform future planning. Content curation that tells a story and connects members digitally or in-person. Team Leadership: Lead, guide, and mentor Member Event Coordinators, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. Oversee team management including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, training, payroll, and disciplinary procedures. Oversee staff performance, conducting appraisals, and strategizing with leadership to assess performance and development while maintaining professional relationships. Provide training and support to volunteers in each city when required. Have regular presence on the floor and work alongside Membership Managers to answer any and all member needs or inquiries.
