Quality Assurance Automation Engineer - Python/PyTest

Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled QA/Test Automation Engineer with experience in Python-based automated test development. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in test automation frameworks, network protocol testing (Layer 2/Layer 3), and working knowledge of Linux operating systems. If you have hands-on experience with traffic generators like Ixia or Spirent, it will be considered a plus.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Python and test automation frameworks like Pytest, Robot, or Behave.

- Perform testing on Layer 2 and Layer 3 network protocols such as OSPF, BGP, STP, VLAN, TCP/IP, ARP, and DHCP.

- Conduct functional, performance, and regression testing on networking products.

- Work closely with development teams to identify testing requirements and ensure robust, scalable automation coverage.

- Execute test cases, analyze results, identify defects, and report findings in a clear and organized manner.

- Troubleshoot issues in test automation scripts and environments, ensuring reliability and accuracy of test results.

- Utilize traffic generators like Ixia or Spirent for network traffic simulation and validation.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to ensure the quality of networking solutions.

- Document and report test automation strategies, progress, and results to stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- 4 years of experience in test automation and QA with a focus on Python-based automation.

- Strong proficiency in Python and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.

- Hands-on experience with one or more test automation frameworks, such as Pytest, Robot, or Behave.

- Experience working with Linux operating systems (any flavor).

- Proven expertise in testing Layer 2/Layer 3 protocols (OSPF, BGP, STP, VLAN, TCP/IP, ARP, DHCP) is mandatory.

- Familiarity with traffic generators like Ixia or Spirent is a plus.

- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automation into DevOps workflows.

- Knowledge of network simulation tools or environments.

- Familiarity with cloud platforms and virtualization technologies.

Education :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
