Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced WordPress Developer to join our
dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong coding abilities and in-depth
knowledge of WordPress customization, theme and plugin development, and
performance optimization. You will be responsible for developing and
maintaining WordPress websites, implementing new features, and ensuring the
overall performance and security of our web properties.
Key Responsibilities:
WordPress Development:
• Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites using best practices.
• Create and modify custom themes and plugins based on project requirements.
• Implement responsive design techniques to ensure websites are mobile-friendly
and cross-browser compatible.
• Collaborate with designers and other developers to create high-quality, user-
friendly websites.
Customization and Coding:
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Customize existing themes and plugins to meet specific client needs.
• Develop custom post types, taxonomies, and custom fields using Advanced Custom
Fields (ACF) or similar tools.
• Integrate third-party APIs and services into WordPress sites.
Performance Optimization:
• Optimize website performance by reducing load times, improving server response,
and leveraging caching techniques.

Conduct regular site audits to identify and fix issues related to speed, SEO, and
security.
• Implement best practices for database optimization, including query optimization
and efficient data handling.
Security Management:
• Ensure the security of WordPress sites by implementing best practices for user
management, data protection, and vulnerability management.
• Monitor and update WordPress core, themes, and plugins to protect against security
threats.
• Perform regular backups and disaster recovery planning.
Troubleshooting and Support:
• Provide technical support for existing WordPress websites, resolving issues related
to functionality, performance, and compatibility.
• Troubleshoot and debug code-related problems and identify solutions in a timely
manner.
• Collaborate with the support team to address client concerns and implement
necessary changes.
Collaboration and Communication:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, content, and marketing,
to deliver cohesive web experiences.
• Participate in project planning, providing accurate time estimates and technical
input.
• Document code and development processes to ensure maintainability and ease of
future updates.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Experience: 3+ years of professional experience as a WordPress developer. Technical Skills:
• Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Experience with theme and plugin development and customization.
• Familiarity with front-end frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap) and responsive design
principles.
• Knowledge of RESTful API integrations and third-party services.
• Proficiency in version control systems like Git.
Tools:
• Experience with page builders like Elementor, WPBakery, or Gutenberg.
• Familiarity with tools like Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), WooCommerce, and Yoast
SEO.
• Experience with debugging tools like Chrome DevTools, Firebug, etc.
Soft Skills:
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
