Summary of Department & Role
As part of the Global Tata Design network, the successful candidate will join the India Design team, tasked with developing multiple projects for Tata Motors in both advanced and production stages. Based in the India Design Studio (Pune), this role will contribute to the development of production vehicles and advanced projects, such as internal and external concepts like the Sierra.
The role aims to support the HMI Design team in enhancing our brand's customer experience through cross-functional activities, including trend analysis, UI/motion design theme creation, and development from advanced stages to production implementation. Additionally, the role involves supporting UX development activities, collaborating with various stakeholders to visualize creative solutions, and ensuring alignment with feasibility.
Key Responsibilities

• Crafting intuitive, visually compelling interfaces that define the future of automotive UX.
• Develop concept proposals for both advanced and production projects.
• Create future-forward design visions based on trend analysis, competitive benchmarking, market evolution, and user expectations.
• Drive the design process through brainstorming, sketches, digital/physical models, animations, and short films to illustrate ideas.
• Collaborate closely with Exterior, Interior, CMF, and UX teams to ensure seamless project alignment.
• Advocate for the Design team’s vision in meetings and effectively communicate insights to cross-functional teams.
• Regularly produce and present trend reports on HMI, UI, and UX advancements to keep the studio and leadership informed.
• Work independently with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Interaction Design or a related field.
• Relevant experience in the Automotive UI/UX design domain is an advantage.

Desired Tools & Skills

• Interaction & Prototyping: Figma, FigJam, Adobe XD, Protopie, Axure.
• UI & Visual Design: Photoshop, Illustrator.
• Motion & Storytelling: After Effects, Premiere Pro.
• 3D & Simulation (Preferred): Blender, Unreal Engine, Unity.
• Communicating ideas through compelling and visually engaging presentation
• Strong understanding of user-centric Design, usability best practices, and emerging technologies.
• Excellent communication, documentation skills.
• Creative problem-solving with a drive for innovation

Other Features of the Role

• Full-time role based in the Tata Motors Design Studio in Pune.
• Frequent on-site interactions with other Designers, Engineering, and Product Development teams.
• May require travel to interface with suppliers and vendors.
