What can you expect in a Applications and Security Support role with TaskUs:
Think of yourself as someone who will work closely with senior team members, developers, and security experts to enhance your skills and become a valuable asset to our organization. You will be an integral member of our Agile Development Team, responsible for providing technical support for Cloud-based applications hosted on AWS, resolving application-related issues, and assisting in implementing security measures. This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in supporting applications within an Agile environment and contributing to the security and reliability of our software solutions.
Imagine yourself going to work with one thing on your mind: The Junior Applications Support and Security Specialist will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in application support and security within an Agile Development Team. This role provides a solid foundation for building a career in application support and cybersecurity, with ample opportunities for professional growth and learning from experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Application Support: Assist in providing technical support for application-related queries and problems. Help diagnose and troubleshoot application issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution. Collaborate with team members to reproduce, log, and escalate critical issues to the appropriate stakeholders. Learn and adapt to the organizations applications and their functionalities.
Cloud Expertise: Providing support for Cloud-based applications hosted on AWS. Having a deep understanding of the Cloud environment and services being used. Assisting in the deployment and management of applications on Cloud platforms. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AWS services, including but not limited to Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, and others. Monitor and analyze AWS CloudWatch metrics, logs, and alarms to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
Security Implementation: Work under the guidance of senior team members to implement security patches Assist in monitoring and addressing security vulnerabilities (infra and applications level). Learn about the organizations security policies and ensure compliance with them. Support the execution of security assessments and testing activities.
Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD): Learn about Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment processes for applications. Assist in automating testing, build, and deployment processes under the guidance of senior team members. Participate in maintaining the integrity and reliability of application deployments during the CI/CD pipeline.
System Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor application performance and take proactive steps to optimize and improve efficiency. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as backups, updates, and patches.
Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address issues and implement solutions. Communicate technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders. Participate in team meetings, discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions. Engage in knowledge-sharing sessions and take part in learning opportunities to enhance your skills.
Required Qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of application support, software development, and security principles.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies is a plus.
  • Some knowledge of secure coding practices and common security vulnerabilities is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, etc
  • Interest in learning about CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps principles.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Technologies such as AWS is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Education / Certifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
