Engineering Manager - Java/Node.js (10-15 yrs)

Role : Engineering Manager :

- Mandatory (Experience 1) : Must have 10+ YOE in Software Development

- Mandatory (Experience 2) : Must have 8+ YOE in Backend development using Java

- Mandatory (Experience 3) : Must have strong experience in Frontend development using ReactJS (or -similar Frontend Javascript frameworks)

- Mandatory (Experience 4) : Must have 4+ YOE as a Team Lead / Manager

- Mandatory (Experience 5) : Must have experience with any databases - MySQL / PostgreSQL / Postgres / Oracle / SQL Server / DB2 / Mongo DB / SQL

- Mandatory (Education) : BE / B.Tech / M.Tech

- Mandatory (Company) : Product Company / Startups only

Key Responsibilities :

- Own the engineering function for client's SAAS product suite.

- Oversee all software development activity - manage tasks, milestones, and dependencies across multiple concurrent projects.

- Lead a team of Engineering Managers & Principal Engineers.

- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Product Mgmt, Business, Sales etc) to improve product capabilities and services.

- Provide technology leadership and create a collaborative working environment.

- Ensure implementation of formal best practices and standards for software development.

- Play an active role in hiring, training, mentoring, and motivating a world-class engineering talent pool.

- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities and negotiate the best possible outcomes for the organisation.

Ideal Candidate :

- 5+ years of experience directly managing teams of Software Engineers.

- 10+ years of hands-on software development experience.

- Deep experience in building enterprise software solutions.

- A strong track record of project delivery for large, cross-functional, projects and bringing in and growing engineering talent.

- Proficiency in languages such as PHP, NodeJS, Java, Golang, Scala.

- Familiarity with database technologies like MySQL, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, Kafka.

- SAP & Integration experience a bonus.

- Highly analytical with the ability to think first principles.

- Has excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions based on business needs.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences.
