Role Overview:
Seeking a highly experienced leader - "Director - Capital" to join the group's Operator team.
- The ideal candidate must have a successful track record of having building and leading funding teams and network to raise capital, preferably for Digital, Tech, Deep-tech firms in the Pre-seed/Seed/Start up stages.
- The candidate should have a flair for business development especially in having deep contacts with family offices and Angel investors (including High Net Worth Individuals (HNIs), Ultra HNIs) and Micro Private Equity (PE) firms.
- In addition to the core role of Fund raising this role is also crucial for establishing and nurturing investor relationships, and securing funds to support our portfolio companies.
- Overall, the candidate must possess the people management skills to inspire & motivate his team members and achieve the Fund-raising targets within the specified time period window of the Investment round.
- The candidate may also be required to support fund raising directly for the Portfolio companies of the Venture Operator at each stage of the portfolio company.
- For doing this, the candidate should also require significant exposure of having raised funds from VCs, Private equity firms & Investment Bankers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build a capable team comprising of Internal team members & external partners and network to support fund raising for the Venture Operator.
- Meet "Fund targets" through primarily Fundraising from Family offices, Angel investors (mainly HNIs) & Micro PE firms.
- Support to raise funds directly for the Portfolio companies thru VCs, Investment banks & PE firms.
- Drive fundraising efforts by initiating and leading introductory conversations with key potential investors.
Qualifications:
- Proven 7 to 10 years of experience in front-end fundraising, including minimum 3 years in leading teams to raise funds for Start-ups.
- Strong existing network of Family offices, HNI investors & Angel Network investors and PE firms.
- Effective people management skills
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to drive fundraising initiatives and close deals independently.
- Managing Investor relations
- Strong Business development skills & ability to promote, convince & close Investor funding deals.
Experience:
- Minimum 7 to 10 years on the above with proven track record in Fund raising & managing teams.
- Minimum Degree (MBA will be added advantage)
