Purpose of the Job :

As a Senior QA Engineer at Brit, you will be involved in driving our quality engineering practices and initiatives forward.

Your role will encompass a broad spectrum of responsibilities, ranging from hands-on automation to contributing to the strategy and direction of quality engineering at Brit.

You'll be at the forefront of our quality efforts, driving the development and maintenance of automated test suites across our full stack.

Your expertise in automation frameworks and tools will ensure comprehensive test coverage throughout the SDLC.

While automation will be a cornerstone of your role, you'll also be engaged in exploratory testing efforts, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to uphold the highest standards of quality at every layer of our software stack.

You'll serve as a mentor within the QA team, providing guidance and direction to junior members and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Your collaboration with development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders will be critical in advocating for quality throughout the software development lifecycle and effectively communicating QA strategies and results.

With a keen eye for optimization and efficiency, you'll proactively identify opportunities to streamline testing processes and enhance overall quality assurance practices.

Principal Accountabilities :

- Work closely with teams to design, plan and execute the required testing for delivery.

- Develop and implement test plans and test scripts for each test phase using the testing tools such as Azure DevOps.

- Lead the design, development, and implementation of automated testing solutions for complex software systems.

- Contribute to the automation strategies and frameworks to ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

- Provide technical guidance to the team on testing and automation best practices.

- Collaborate with leads in refining and implementing the overall automation strategy.

- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in test automation processes and tools.

- Act as a subject matter expert in testing and advocate for quality across the organization.

- Participate in cross-functional discussions to align testing efforts with project goals.

- Perform independent review of testing performed by internal development team and other third parties, ensuring quality and consistency of test scoping, planning execution and reporting.

- Provide support to business users during acceptance testing, including test script walkthroughs, document testing issues and test results, and answering questions on system functionality.

- Evaluate and integrate various testing tools into the SDLC.

- Ensure integration with CI/CD pipelines and other development tools.

- Investigate and troubleshoot issues identified during testing.

- Propose innovative solutions to address complex technical challenges.

Must Have Technical Skills :

- Extensive experience in QA, including test automation.

- Experience in design, development & maintenance of manual and automation tests.

- Ability to breakdown high level business requirements, map to iterative delivery and create robust technical test scripts.

- Strong understanding of web application architecture, technologies, and protocols (for example HTML, CSS, XML, JSON, HTTP).

- Proficient in a programming language (preferably an OOP language such as C#, or Python).

- Strong experience in creating automated tests for front-end and back-end systems (using libraries such as Selenium, Playwright, RestAssured, RestSharp, Pytest).

- Strong knowledge and experience of test automation implementation, design patterns, and best practices.

- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and experience in testing APIs (using tools such as Postman/Insomnia).

- Experienced with CI/CD, with the ability to implement pipelines for test automation (on tools such as Jenkins / Azure DevOps).

- Good understanding of cloud computing and some experience on a cloud platform (preferably Azure).

- Familiarity with non-functional testing such as performance, load, accessibility, and security.

- Understanding of containerization technologies and orchestration (e., Docker, Kubernetes).

Nice-to-Have Skills :

- Non-functional testing experience such as security and load.

- Strong mentorship and training abilities of QA team members.

- Experience in leadership, QA strategy, and process improvement.

- Experience in testing low-code/no-code applications.
