Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Data Engineering to lead our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in data architecture, engineering, and management, and will play a key role in shaping the future of our data infrastructure and strategy. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to ensure our data systems are scalable, reliable, and efficient. The ideal candidate thrives under ambiguous, complex development scenarios and has experience working in a startup environment.


Responsibilities :


- Data Architecture Design : Design and implement robust, scalable, and high-performance data architectures that support AI forecasting models.


- Data Pipeline Development : Build and maintain efficient data pipelines to ingest, process, and store large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources.


- Data Integration : Integrate data from diverse sources, ensuring data quality, consistency, and reliability.


- Collaboration : Work closely with data scientists, AI researchers, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and develop solutions that enable advanced analytics and AI forecasting.


- Optimization : Continuously optimize data processes for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.


- Data Governance : Implement and enforce data governance policies to ensure data security, privacy, and compliance with relevant regulations.


- Technical Leadership : Mentor and lead a team of data engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.


- Emerging Technologies : Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and AI, and apply best practices to enhance our data infrastructure.


- Strategic Leadership : Develop and execute the data engineering strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives.


- Team Management : Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing data engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.


- Data Infrastructure : Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes to support analytics and business intelligence initiatives.


- Project Management : Oversee multiple data engineering initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.


Requirements :


- Education : Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.


- Experience : 10+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.


- Technical Skills : Proficiency in data engineering technologies such as SQL, Python, Java, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS, etc. ).


- Data Modeling : Strong experience in data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousing.


- Big Data : Experience with big data technologies and frameworks.


- AI and Machine Learning : Understanding of AI and machine learning concepts and their application to data engineering.


- Leadership : Proven experience leading and mentoring a team of data engineers.


- Problem-Solving : Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
