Job Description: Role: Database Monitoring and Resolution

Looking for 2-4 years an experience on Junior oracle DBA, willing to work in 24*7 environment with rotational shift.

Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in with Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a Database Administrator, with a strong focus on Microsoft SQL Server
Proficiency in database administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Solid understanding of Azure services related to database management.
Experience with performance tuning and optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Familiarity with best practices in data security.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

Monitoring databases involves keeping track of various metrics and aspects of the database to ensure its optimal performance. Monitoring tools and techniques can vary depending on the database platform (eg, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL), but the core aspects remain similar.
Track CPU, memory, and disk usage to ensure the system is not overloaded. Monitor query performance, transaction rates, and latency times. Keep an eye on key metrics like I/O performance, cache hit ratios, and buffer memory usage. Tools: Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, etc

Ensure that databases are running efficiently and troubleshoot basic performance issues such as slow queries or resource bottlenecks.
Ensure daily backups of the database are taken as per the organizations policy. Participate in the testing of backup and recovery procedures to ensure data can be restored in case of a failure. Assist in disaster recovery planning and execution, such as restoring a database to a prior state.
Assist in identifying and optimizing slow queries and database processes under supervision. Perform routine maintenance tasks like index rebuilding, statistics gathering, and optimizing storage.
Apply patches and updates to database software and systems, ensuring that databases are up-to-date with security and functionality improvements. Maintain and update documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures. Document any changes made to the database environment for future reference.
Respond to database alerts and resolve basic issues such as connection errors, locking issues, or resource shortages. Escalate complex issues to Senior DBAs or other technical teams as needed.

Tune SQL queries, database configurations, and parameters to optimize performance. Adjust buffer memory allocation, caching mechanisms, or connection pools for better resource management. Rebuild or reorganize indexes to improve query performance. Troubleshooting and Fixes: Investigate root causes of database crashes or errors and apply the necessary fixes (eg, updating configuration, increasing memory allocation, resolving bad queries). Address issues such as corrupt data blocks, failed backups, or failed transactions.

Set up automation scripts to handle routine tasks such as backing up databases, monitoring thresholds, or automatically extending tablespaces. Use tools like Oracle s Automatic Workload Repository (AWR) or SQL Server s SQL Agent for scheduling maintenance tasks. Self-Healing Scripts: Implement self-healing mechanisms that automatically respond to certain issues (eg, freeing up locked sessions, restarting failed processes).
