The SAP Production Planning (PP) Consultant is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing SAP PP solutions to support manufacturing and production processes. This role requires in-depth knowledge of SAP PP modules and integration with other SAP modules, such as MM, SD, and QM. The consultant collaborates with business stakeholders to ensure SAP PP functionalities align with production strategies and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirement Gathering and Solution Design:
Work with stakeholders to understand production planning, shop floor control, and manufacturing processes.
Design SAP PP solutions that meet business requirements, incorporating industry best practices.
Configuration and Implementation:
Configure SAP PP modules, including demand management, material requirements planning (MRP), production orders, capacity planning, and shop floor control.
Set up master data elements such as work centers, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and routings.
Implement advanced features like Kanban, repetitive manufacturing, and production versioning.
Integration with Other Modules:
Ensure seamless integration of SAP PP with other modules, including MM (Materials Management), SD (Sales and Distribution), and QM (Quality Management).
Configure interfaces for third-party systems and tools that interact with production planning processes.
Data Migration and Master Data Management:
Support data migration activities, including transferring master data, transactional data, and historical data.
Maintain high-quality and consistent master data for production planning.
Testing and Validation:
Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT) for SAP PP solutions.
Troubleshoot issues during testing and resolve them promptly.
Training and Documentation:
Develop and deliver training sessions for end-users and key stakeholders on SAP PP functionalities.
Create detailed documentation for configurations, workflows, and troubleshooting guidelines.
Post-Go-Live Support and Optimization:
Provide go-live support to ensure smooth adoption of SAP PP processes.
Monitor system performance and propose enhancements to improve production efficiency.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on SAP S/4HANA PP advancements and new features, including Embedded PPDS (Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling).
Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and leverage new SAP functionalities.
Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Expertise:
Proficiency in SAP PP module configuration, including demand planning, MRP, and shop floor processes.
Familiarity with SAP S/4HANA Production Planning features, such as Embedded PPDS and Fiori apps.
Experience with integration points between SAP PP and MM, SD, QM, and other modules.
Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
Strong ability to analyze complex manufacturing workflows and recommend optimized SAP solutions.
Excellent troubleshooting skills for resolving configuration and system issues.
Project Experience:
Experience with SAP PP implementations, upgrades, or migrations.
Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and Agile project practices.
Communication and Collaboration:
Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and end-users.
Ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
SAP S/4HANA certification in Production Planning.
Experience with Advanced Planning and Scheduling tools, such as SAP IBP or APO.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other production methodologies.
Familiarity with reporting tools like SAP Analytics Cloud or Embedded Analytics.
