You will have incredibly strong accounting and revenue recognition expertise, and analytical skills, work smartly, a good communicator and leader, yet humble enough to roll up your sleeves and get into the details.
What will you do
Assist and Support monthly closing activities including, but not limited to, reviewing non-routine revenue transactions, performing accounting assessments, preparing accurate journal entries, reconciliations, data analysis, documenting revenue conclusions and ad hoc requests
Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for various revenue accounts, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP
Perform reviews of revenue transactions of acquired contracts for accounting compliance with applicable US GAAP
Understanding and application of various business models of the software industry including SAAS offerings
Identify actionable insights and suggest recommendations to address issues and improve accounting processes/efficiencies
Partner closely with cross-functional to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices, automation, and continuous process improvements
To succeed in this role, you should also have a problem-solving attitude
Should have sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices and demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ensure compliance with internal control policies in a SOX environment
Who You Are & What Makes You Qualified
Must be, or recently have been, a senior revenue accountant or the assistant revenue manager for a company in the software space
Must have a CPA/CA and a bachelor s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Minimum of 6 years of experience in a corporate finance environment, ideally including 3-5 years of experience in revenue accounting of software and cloud-based offerings.
Experience in SAP/HANA 4 is a plus
Must have an understanding of ASC 606 and preferably have worked in a company that has been through the adoption of the new standard
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to efficiently provide high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to communicate complex scenarios and topics in a clear and ingestible manner to the team and senior management
Above all else, a willingness to undertake all projects to support your teammates and improve the overall effectiveness of the function.
