Technology Analyst

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Technology Analyst to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving maritime decarbonization efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology analysis, a deep understanding of the maritime industry, and a passion for sustainability and environmental innovation. This role will involve researching, evaluating, and recommending cutting-edge technologies and strategies to reduce carbon emissions in the maritime sector.

Key Responsibilities:

1.         Technology Research and Evaluation:

o          Conduct in-depth research on emerging technologies and solutions for maritime decarbonization, including alternative fuels (e.g., hydrogen, ammonia, biofuels), energy efficiency systems, and carbon capture technologies.

o          Analyze the feasibility, scalability, and environmental impact of decarbonization technologies.

o          Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and advancements in green shipping technologies.

2.         Data Analysis and Reporting:

o          Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to carbon emissions, energy consumption, and operational efficiency in the maritime sector.

o          Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and recommendations for stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and industry partners.

o          Develop models and simulations to assess the potential impact of decarbonization technologies on fleet operations and emissions reduction.

3.         Strategic Support:

o          Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement decarbonization strategies and roadmaps.

o          Provide technical expertise and support for pilot projects and trials of new technologies.

o          Assist in the development of business cases and investment proposals for decarbonization initiatives.

4.         Stakeholder Engagement:

o          Build and maintain relationships with technology providers, research institutions, and industry organizations.

o          Represent the company at industry conferences, workshops, and working groups focused on maritime decarbonization.

o          Stay informed about global and regional regulations, incentives, and funding opportunities related to maritime sustainability.

5.         Continuous Improvement:

o          Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-effective solutions to accelerate decarbonization efforts.

o          Stay updated on best practices and innovations in the field of maritime sustainability and technology.

Preferred candidate profile Qualifications:

•  Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Maritime Studies, or a related field.

•   Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in technology analysis, sustainability, or the maritime industry.

o     Proven track record of working on decarbonization, energy efficiency, or environmental projects.

• Technical Skills:

o          Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Python, R, or similar).

o          Knowledge of maritime operations, ship design, and propulsion systems.

o          Familiarity with decarbonization technologies and alternative fuels.

•   Soft Skills:

o          Excellent communication and presentation skills.

o          Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

o          Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

•           Experience with life cycle assessment (LCA) and carbon footprint analysis.
•           Knowledge of international maritime regulations (e.g., IMO GHG strategy, EU ETS).
•           Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
