Android Engineer - Kotlin & Reactive Programming Expert

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Android Engineer - Kotlin Reactive Programming with 4 to 8 years of experience in building real-world Android applications. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in software development principles, especially in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming. This role requires experience with Kotlin, familiarity with Java, and a strong understanding of mobile application best practices.

Overall Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Android applications that meet user needs and business requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and design, to define app features and functionality.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to industry best practices for mobile development.
• Implement reactive programming paradigms and background services to enhance application performance and user experience.
• Optimize applications for performance, security, and scalability, ensuring a seamless user experience across various devices and Android versions.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
• Stay current with industry trends and advancements in Android development, incorporating new technologies and methodologies as appropriate.

Technical Skills:

• Android Development: Proficient in building Android applications with a strong portfolio of real-world apps.
• Programming Languages: Hands-on experience with Kotlin and familiarity with Java 8 concepts.
• Reactive Programming: Familiarity with reactive programming paradigms, including experience using RxJava, background services, and WorkManager or similar libraries.
• Data Binding Dependency Injection: Knowledge of data binding and dependency injection frameworks (e.g., Dagger, Hilt).
• Multi-threading: Understanding of multi-threading and asynchronous programming environments.
• Performance Security: Familiarity with performance best practices and mobile application security considerations.
• Version Control: Experience using Git for code management and familiarity with build tools like Gradle.

Experience: 4 to 8 years of experience in Android application development, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality applications.

Day-to-Day Activities:

• Participate in daily stand-up meetings and sprint planning sessions.
• Collaborate with designers and product managers to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Develop and maintain features and improvements for existing Android applications.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues reported by users or identified through testing.
• Perform unit testing and integration testing to ensure application quality and performance.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in Android development and share knowledge with the team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in Android development or mobile application development are a plus.
