Head of Finance and Accounts

1. OBJECTIVE

The Head of Finance and Accounts will oversee the overall financial health of the organization, ensuring that financial practices, reporting, and compliance are managed effectively. This role involves leading the finance team, strategizing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, managing all accounting functions, ensuring audit compliance, and managing banking relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Financial Management:

• Develop and implement financial strategies in alignment with the organization’s overall business objectives.
• Lead the preparation of financial forecasts, annual budgets, and long-term financial plans.
• Monitor financial performance and provide recommendations for improvements to senior leadership.

Financial Reporting & Analysis:

• Oversee the preparation and accuracy of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, both standalone and group consolidated
• Conduct detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis and key performance indicators (KPIs), to assess business performance.
• Preparation of annual report
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and tax laws.

Accounting Function:

• Direct all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, costing, and financial reconciliation.
• Ensure effective internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets and maintain financial integrity.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management:

• Oversee cash flow management, working capital optimization, and liquidity management.
• Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions to ensure effective treasury management, hedging, credit control and financing solutions.

Banking Relationships & Management:

• Manage and optimize the company’s banking relationships to ensure the best terms and services.
• Oversee day-to-day banking operations, including cash management, banking transactions, and fund transfers.
• Negotiate with financial institutions to secure favourable rates and financial products that align with the company’s needs.

Tax and Compliance:

• Ensure the company’s compliance with tax regulations and manage corporate tax planning and strategy.
• Coordinate audits and manage all related documentation, ensuring timely filing of returns.

Internal and External Audit:

• Oversee the internal audit process to ensure effective internal controls, accuracy in financial reporting, and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly/ annual audits, ensuring all required documentation is provided and issues are addressed in a timely manner.
• Ensure the implementation of audit recommendations and identify areas for operational improvements based on audit findings.

Treasury Investment Committee Participation:

• Actively participate as a member of the Treasury Investment Committee, contributing insights and strategies to the company’s investment decisions and overall financial risk management approach.

Stakeholder Communication:

• Collaborate with senior management, external auditors, and other key stakeholders to present financial insights and strategic recommendations.
• Provide detailed financial insights and support decision-making across various departments.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education:

• Qualified Chartered accountant with a minimum of 15 years of experience (Post CA qualification) in financial management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role with a reputed public limited company.
• Proven track record of managing accounting functions and delivering strategic financial insights.
• Strong experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes.

Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP, IND AS/ IFRS), financial regulations, and reporting standards.
• Proficiency in SAP FICO
• Strong finance-based analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
