Job Title: Electrical Designer Solar Power Plant

Location: Bhubaneswar
Experience: Minimum 2 years in solar power plant design

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer with a strong background in designing solar power plants. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating electrical layouts, single-line diagrams, and detailed designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Electrical Design and Documentation:
   
• Prepare and review single-line diagrams (SLDs), wiring diagrams, and electrical layouts for solar power plants.
• Develop detailed designs for AC and DC systems, including string sizing, inverter selection, and cable routing.
• Design grounding and lightning protection systems.
2. System Modeling and Calculations:
   
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, and voltage drop calculations.
• Conduct PV system performance modeling using tools like PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar software.
3. Compliance and Standards:
   
• Ensure designs comply with relevant standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, or local electrical codes) and project specifications.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.
4. Project Coordination:
   
• Coordinate with structural and civil engineers to integrate electrical components.
• Provide technical support during project execution and commissioning phases.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
   
• Create and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM), technical drawings, and other required documentation.
• Prepare as-built drawings and O&M manuals upon project completion.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in designing solar power plants.
• Technical Expertise:
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, and PV design tools (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope).
• Knowledge of inverters, transformers, switchgear, and solar panels.
• Familiarity with grid interconnection requirements and electrical codes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in solar design or relevant electrical design courses.
• Hands-on experience in utility-scale or rooftop solar projects.
• Knowledge of SCADA and monitoring systems for solar power plants.
