Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of solar power plant projects in Maharashtra. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the solar plant project lifecycle, from initial planning and design to commissioning and handover. This includes managing resources, budgets, timelines, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning and Execution:
   
• Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of solar power plant projects within the defined timeline, scope, and budget.
• Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
• Coordinate with design, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure the seamless execution of projects.
• Ensure that all project deliverables align with project specifications and client expectations.
2. Team Leadership and Coordination:
   
• Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team, including engineers, technicians, and contractors, to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Provide guidance and support to the team, ensuring effective communication, problem resolution, and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth coordination and timely project progress.
3. Budget and Resource Management:
   
• Prepare and manage the project budget, ensuring all costs remain within the approved limits.
• Allocate and manage resources efficiently, ensuring that labor, materials, and equipment are utilized effectively.
• Track project expenses, monitor cash flow, and ensure that any deviations from the budget are addressed promptly.
4. Vendor and Contractor Management:
   
• Select, negotiate, and manage relationships with external vendors and contractors involved in the project.
• Monitor and evaluate vendor and contractor performance to ensure quality, compliance with timelines, and adherence to contract terms.
• Resolve any disputes or issues with vendors or contractors in a timely and efficient manner.
5. Risk Management and Problem Solving:
   
• Identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle, including technical, financial, and environmental risks.
• Implement corrective actions when necessary to address any delays, cost overruns, or quality concerns.
• Proactively identify potential issues and find solutions to keep the project on track.
6. Regulatory Compliance and Safety Management:
   
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and national regulations, including environmental, safety, and building codes.
• Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and ensure that all team members, contractors, and vendors comply with safety standards.
• Oversee regular safety audits and inspections on-site.
7. Stakeholder Communication and Reporting:
   
• Act as the main point of contact for all project stakeholders, including clients, senior management, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
• Provide regular progress updates, reports, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage client expectations and address any concerns or issues raised during the project lifecycle.
8. Commissioning and Handover:
   
• Oversee the commissioning process, ensuring that all systems and components are tested and operational.
• Ensure the project is handed over to the client in line with agreed-upon terms and specifications.
• Prepare and manage the final project documentation, including as-built drawings, system manuals, and warranty information.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. A Master’s degree or Project Management certifications (PMP, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management within the solar energy or renewable energy industry, with at least 3 years managing large-scale solar power plant projects.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of solar power plant design, installation, commissioning, and operations.
• Understanding of grid integration, electrical systems, and renewable energy technologies.
• Familiarity with software tools for project management, scheduling (MS Project, Primavera, etc.), and budget tracking.
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, resolve conflicts, and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Certifications: PMP, Prince2, or other relevant project management certifications are highly desirable.
• Local Knowledge: Understanding of local regulations, environmental laws, and cultural nuances in Maharashtra is a plus.

Working Conditions

• Full-time position based at the solar power plant site in Maharashtra.
• The role may require travel to project sites across Maharashtra.
• Occasional work outside regular hours may be required depending on project deadlines and milestones.
• Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including outdoor and construction site settings.
