Product Designer

We are looking for a product designer with 2 to 5 years of experience, a passion for scalable product design, a knack for solving challenging (design) problems and an eye for detail. You’ll be working as part of a multidisciplinary design team while collaborating closely with product owners and developers in creating exceptional product design outcomes. To be successful in this role, you should have an excellent understanding of interaction design & prototyping as well as brand application. You should also have experience designing features and/or products from start to finish, including developer hand-off and documentation.

Summary of Role:

• Work as a member of the Design Team.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Development Teams as well as client facing teams in designing & prototyping a diverse range of products and product features.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders at different levels on a day-to-day basis; attend meetings and manage email & Slack correspondence.
• Collaborate with developers on design handoff and design QA once the product is ready to be shipped.
• Understand and advance the Sureify product suite. Ensure and encourage consistency within and across products.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary design team; share in the workload, lead by example and motivate others.
• The ability to prioritize and work efficiently to deliver projects on time.
• Work independently and be self-motivated.

Key Responsibilities:

• Translate complex ideas into design that is compelling, consistent & scalable, including but not limited to workflows, user flows, wireframes, mockups, high fidelity UI/UX, prototypes.
• Carry out UI/UX branding projects for our customers from start to finish.
• Present product designs & concepts to internal and external stakeholders.
• Utilize & contribute to an existing design system to ensure cohesion across designs.
• Provide design QA.
• Prepare and maintain relevant documentation on each project.
• Handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. When necessary, organize workload around changing priorities.
• Inspire and share ideas with other design members across the organization.
• Display strong organizational skills, liaise confidently with stakeholders to obtain relevant input on projects.
• Flexibility in working hours when required on urgent projects.
• Accurately report time spent on projects.
• Actively participate in ideation sessions & design reviews across design and product disciplines.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• 2 - 5 years relevant years experience in product design.
• Proficiency in industry standard tools and design software.
• Experience in designing & prototyping web and smartphone apps.
• Experience in applying brand guidelines to existing UX/UI.
• Bachelor’s degree in product design, UI/UX design, HCI or equivalent certification.
• Working knowledge of information architecture and hierarchy for complex products.
• Team player; excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Proactive approach to career, projects and relationships.
• Strong organization skills, meticulous documentation standards.
• Passion for design, attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn from others, share knowledge; and a drive to improve.
• Comfortable working remotely across time zones & cultures (GMT-7 / GMT+5:30).
• Experience working on customer driven projects is an advantage.
• Experience with product design for Insurtech or FinTech applications is a plus.
