Head Engineering

Role & responsibilities

1. Plant Operations & Equipment Maintenance:

• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of plant equipment, including textile machinery (weaving, dyeing, CSP) and utilities like compressors, cooling towers, humidification systems, hot water recovery, and steam systems.
• Minimize unplanned downtime by conducting regular performance reviews with the Head of Operations and resolving issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with local laws and safety standards while upholding maintenance quality.

2. Energy Efficiency & Cost Optimization:

• Strategize energy conservation and optimize resource utilization to reduce operational costs.
• Increase the lifespan of machinery and spare parts through innovative maintenance techniques and proper upkeep.

3. Maintenance Planning & Execution:

• Develop and implement a robust maintenance program, emphasizing preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime.
• Plan and execute shutdowns effectively to achieve zero downtime.
• Maintain detailed records of machine maintenance history for troubleshooting and future reference.

4. Project Management:

• Lead projects, including planning, scheduling, cost estimation, and resource mobilization, ensuring timely and cost-effective execution.
• Manage manpower, materials, and machines to align with organizational objectives.

5. Team Development & Communication:

• Mentor and coach team members to enhance their skills and support career growth.
• Foster a collaborative environment by maintaining open communication with maintenance technicians regarding challenges and solutions.

6. Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) & Organizational Initiatives:

• Successfully implement TPM, 6S, and Kaizen initiatives with active team involvement.
• Drive continuous improvement through innovation and best practices.

7. Inventory & Resource Management:

• Optimize inventory control to reduce spare part consumption and costs.
• Monitor KPIs for maintenance efficiency and ensure performance targets are met.

8. Technology Integration & Innovation:

• Introduce advanced systems like AI, AR, and IoT for real-time monitoring and control.
• Continuously explore opportunities for technological upgrades to enhance efficiency.

9. Safety & Compliance:

• Educate and enforce safety standards related to personnel, equipment, and tools.
• Ensure adherence to all legal and regulatory requirements applicable to plant operations.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong expertise in mechanical, electrical, and utility maintenance in textile manufacturing.
• Proven experience in project planning, scheduling, and resource management.
• Knowledge of energy conservation, cost optimization, and predictive maintenance practices.
• Demonstrated ability to implement TPM and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
• Proficient with SAP
• Excellent communication, team development, and mentoring skills.
