General Manager Maintenance

Role & responsibilities

1. Leadership and Management: Guide and manage maintenance and engineering teams, ensuring effective performance and development of staff.
2. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement maintenance strategies that align with organizational goals and objectives, including budgeting and resource allocation.
3. Operational Efficiency: Oversee the maintenance of equipment and facilities, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance of all systems.
4. Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety standards and regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO).
5. Process Improvement: Implement and oversee continuous improvement initiatives focusing on predictive and preventive maintenance methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
6. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external contractors and suppliers, negotiating contracts and overseeing performance.
7. Budget Management: Develop and manage the maintenance and engineering budget, ensuring expenditures align with approved financial plans.
8. Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics to monitor equipment performance, identify trends, and make informed decisions regarding maintenance activities.
9. Training and Development: Create training programs for maintenance staff to keep skills up to date and promote a culture of safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Education: A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or Btech Mechanical field is typically required.
• Experience: Proven experience (often 20+ years) in maintenance management or engineering, particularly in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or similar may be preferred.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency in maintenance management software and tools.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
