About the job:
Job Summary:
- The Corporate Legal Counsel will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our organization's legal interests and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, this individual will lead a team of legal professionals and provide strategic legal advice to support our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership:
- Manage and develop a high-performing legal team, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Recruit, train, and mentor team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Legal Counsel:
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance on a wide range of corporate matters, including contracts, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and litigation.
- Collaborate with business leaders to identify and mitigate legal risks.
Data Privacy Security and Protection:
- Serve as the organization's data privacy champion, ensuring compliance with data protection laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement data privacy policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with DPDPA essential.
Legal Services Delivery:
- Oversee the efficient delivery of legal services, optimizing resources and processes to support the company's strategic goals.
Contract Management:
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a variety of legal documents and contracts.
- End to end CM expertise and software systems required
Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, and business partners.
Employment Law:
- Advise the Human Resources department on employment matters, including recruitment, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
Qualifications:
- LL.B degree from a reputable law school.
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant legal experience, including a mix of in-house and law firm experience.
- Strong understanding of corporate law principles and practices.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
- Experience Insurance law.
- Proficiency in multiple Indian languages (read, write, speak) would be a plus.
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- A proactive and results-oriented approach
