Expectations / Responsibilities

  • Own the Project plan to deliver to the expected milestones and deliverables
    • Knowledge of Agile ways of working including SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, Support services
    • Create and drive the Project plan to deliver to the expected milestones, outcomes & impact
    • Own Project estimation using Story Points/ other estimation methods
    • Manage team capacity & allocations to deliver the committed work
    • Drive Scrum-of-Scrum cadence, monitor progress of the project and help Scrum Master/Product Owners to remove any impediments
    • Work with Product Owner/Managers to manage scope and changes
    • Provide visibility and predictability on the plan to key stakeholders through active tracking of the plan, and measuring key metrics (flow, quality, value)
    • Proactively manage Risk/issues/ Dependencies for the Project
    • Address Customer issues/ Escalations/ feedback in cooperation with the Account Manager
    • Manage deviations from plans and work closely with SM/PO in apprising client in case of any scope/plan changes and work towards corrective measures
    • Be an escalation point for team, Scrum Master and Product Owners on project-related issues
    • Drive root cause analysis for critical issues and identify long-term fixes
  • Own Stakeholder Management, Governance and Communication
    • Understand the objectives of key Project stakeholders and align Project plans to deliver to the stakeholder objectives
    • Establish a communication plan for all key internal/external stakeholders
    • Define reports and drive the forums for key stakeholders (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly). Engage M+ Sales/ Engagement leaders to participate in these forums, as required
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across Practices to align them on Project plan, progress, priorities and actions
    • Engage with third-parties/ consultants to improve the solution or resolve any issues/ dependencies
    • Proactively seek support on stakeholder management from M+ Engagement Leadership, as required
  • Own Team setup and management:
    • Drive team onboarding, ramp up/knowledge transfer
    • Actively manage the fulfilment needs for the Project through staffing/ hiring/ contracting. Ensure the required systems are kept updated and provide heads-up/ communication to key stakeholders on the fulfilment status
    • Work with Engagement Leaders to identify the required panel/ facilitate candidate selection
    • Evaluate the performance of team members and determine training needs.
    • Resolve team conflicts using conflict resolution techniques and encourage team bonding to build trust and collaboration
    • Mentor Scrum Masters, team members, encourage learning, innovation, career growth
    • Lead by example/ be the role model on the Organization Values, culture and encourage your teams to contribute to building M+ as a Great Place to Work
  • Track the Project Financials
    • Track and identify improvements in the financial health of the Project. Work with Engagement leadership to explore relevant levers that can be applied for improvements
    • Work with Engagement Leadership to track financial metrics for the Project and provide updates on the metrics in required forums (revenue, resource, invoices etc.)
  • Contribute to improving the Project maturity
    • Participate in Project reviews and audits
    • Work with relevant owners to improve the delivery maturity of the Project by incorporating audit/review findings and enabling adoption of best practices
    • Own continuous improvement plan to incrementally evolve the outcomes for the team by improving processes, toolsets and adoption
    • Identify any learnings/ accelerators from the Project that can be contributed back to Material methods & tools repository
  • Support account growth
    • Contribute to creating Customer Proposals, Statements of Work, and Change Requests
  • Build an understanding of Material offerings to work more effectively along with a cross-practice team for delivering a Project successfully

About you

Minimum experience required is 10+ years in software industry.

Industry leading Scrum Master certifications like SAFe/ CSM

Strong understanding of software development; Agile ways of working is a must

Experience in managing an enterprise product development team preferably in a multi-geo or offshore environment

Proven success in delivering projects within budget and specified timeframes, while ensuring customer satisfaction

Experience with ALM toolset (JIRA/ ADO)

Good communication, analytical, presentation, and planning skills

Good leadership and stakeholder management skills

Project Commercial management awareness

Team management skills and ability to motivate people

Ability to identify alternatives and make contingency plans

Capacity to embrace change and quickly adapt to new situations, changes in direction, and altering priorities

Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments

Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, providing options and recommendations relating to resolving issues, mitigating risks, and resolving escalated items.
