Lab Assistant

Role & responsibilities

• Preparing materials: Creating and organizing learning materials such as worksheets, flashcards, audio recordings, and presentation slides relevant to the English language course curriculum.
• Facilitating student practice: Leading small group activities, conducting interactive exercises, and providing individual feedback on pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and fluency.
• Grading assignments: Assessing student work including written compositions, oral presentations, and language tests, providing detailed feedback and comments.
• Maintaining lab equipment: Ensuring the proper functioning of audio and video equipment, computers, and other technology used in the language lab.
• Supporting student learning: Addressing individual student needs, providing extra help with challenging concepts, and assisting with language learning strategies.
• Data collection and analysis: Recording student progress, tracking performance metrics, and contributing to the evaluation of language learning effectiveness.
• Maintaining a positive learning environment: Fostering a welcoming and engaging atmosphere in the language lab, encouraging active participation and collaboration among students.

Required skills:

• Strong proficiency in English language grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to create engaging and interactive learning materials
• Basic understanding of language acquisition principles and teaching methodologies
• Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
• Computer literacy to utilize language learning software and online tools
