Psychological Counsellor

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide professional counseling services to students, support mental health initiatives, and contribute to a positive and inclusive campus environment. This role involves individual and group counseling sessions, crisis intervention, and the development of mental health programs aimed at promoting student well-being and academic success.

Key Responsibilities

• Individual Counseling:
  Conduct confidential, evidence-based counseling sessions for students facing personal, academic, or emotional challenges.
• Group Counseling & Workshops:
  Facilitate group counseling sessions and design workshops on topics such as stress management, anxiety, and resilience.
• Crisis Intervention:
  Provide immediate support and crisis intervention for students in distress, coordinating with campus and external support services as needed.
• Program Development:
  Collaborate with the counseling team to develop and implement mental health awareness programs and preventive initiatives.
• Documentation & Reporting:
  Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions, assessments, and treatment plans in compliance with university policies and ethical standards.
• Collaboration:
  Work closely with academic staff, student organizations, and external mental health professionals to create a supportive network for student success.
• Continuous Professional Development:
  Stay current with the latest research, counseling techniques, and best practices in mental health to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications

• Education:
  A Masters degree in Psychology, Counseling, or a related field. A Doctoral degree is an asset.
• Certification:
  Relevant professional certification or licensure as a Psychological Counsellor in India.
• Experience:
  Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in providing individual and group counseling, preferably in a higher education or similar setting.

Working Conditions

• The role is primarily based on-campus with opportunities for both in-person and online counseling sessions.
• Some evening or weekend work may be required during peak periods or crisis situations.
• This is a full-time position.
