Position: Engineering Manager - E-commerce Platform

Overview: As the Engineering Manager for our E-commerce Platform, you will spearhead a team of talented engineers to build and maintain innovative, scalable solutions that drive our digital commerce operations. Your leadership will be essential in ensuring the technical success and high performance of our platform, while fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence. Proficiency in React Native, cloud platforms (Azure, GCP), scalable architecture, MongoDB, and a basic understanding of data science are critical for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development:

- Guide and mentor engineers, promoting a collaborative, innovative, and results-driven environment.

- Support team members in their professional and technical development, helping them reach their full potential.

Technical Strategy & Execution:

- Design and execute the technical strategy for the e-commerce platform, with a strong focus on mobile app development using React Native.

- Architect and implement scalable, resilient systems using cloud platforms (Azure, GCP), ensuring they meet performance and cost-efficiency targets.

Innovation & Quality Assurance:

- Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging the team to explore new technologies and approaches.

- Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring high standards through code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.

- Collaborate with the QA team to ensure rigorous testing of all new features, maintaining high product quality.

Collaboration & Project Management:

- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, UX/UI, and data science, to ensure cohesive project execution.

- Plan and deliver projects on time and within budget, actively managing risks and implementing mitigation strategies.

- Integrate data-driven insights and personalization features by collaborating with data science teams.

Performance Monitoring & Analytics:

- Implement robust monitoring and analytics tools to track platform performance and user engagement.

- Utilize data science techniques to drive insights and optimize platform features.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with a significant focus on e-commerce or web-based platforms.

- Proven experience in leading and developing high-performing engineering teams.

- Strong technical expertise in mobile (React Native) and web development (React, Node.js), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and databases (MongoDB, SQL).

- Familiarity with data science principles and their application in enhancing user experiences on e-commerce platforms.

- Proficiency in agile methodologies and experience with project management tools.

- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

- Prior experience in the e-commerce or retail industry is highly beneficial.
