Job Title: MES (Manufacturing Execution System) Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled MES Engineer to lead the implementation, optimization, and maintenance of our Manufacturing Execution System (MES), integrating it with Production Planning & Control (PPC) to enhance real-time production visibility, process automation, and operational efficiency. This role is crucial in driving Industry 4.0 initiatives, ensuring seamless data flow between shop-floor systems, MES, ERP, and automation platforms (SCADA, PLCs, IoT devices).

The ideal candidate will have expertise in MES architecture, industrial automation, production planning, and data-driven manufacturing, with a strong focus on optimizing production schedules, material flow, and capacity utilization.

Key Responsibilities:

1. MES Implementation & System Integration:

• Lead the implementation, configuration, and customization of MES solutions.
• Integrate MES with ERP (SAP/Oracle), SCADA, PLCs, IoT devices, and other shop-floor systems.
• Develop and manage data pipelines, dashboards, and real-time reporting tools for production control.

2. Production Planning & Control (PPC) Optimization:

• Collaborate with PPC teams to align production schedules with real-time MES data.
• Monitor work order execution, material tracking, and shop-floor efficiency through MES analytics.
• Improve capacity planning, reduce production bottlenecks, and optimize resource utilization.

3. Process Automation & Data Analytics:

• Utilize MES analytics to enhance OEE, reduce cycle times, and improve traceability.
• Automate workflow approvals, production tracking, and quality control processes.
• Leverage SQL, Python, or VBA to extract, analyze, and visualize manufacturing data.

4. Troubleshooting & Continuous Improvement:

• Identify and resolve MES-related technical issues, system failures, and data inconsistencies.
• Implement predictive maintenance strategies based on MES insights.
• Drive continuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, and real-time production monitoring.

5. Compliance, Security & Documentation:

• Ensure regulatory compliance (ISO, FDA, GMP) and maintain audit-ready documentation.
• Implement cybersecurity best practices for manufacturing IT systems.
• Develop SOPs and provide training to production, IT, and quality teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

✔ Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Computer Science, or a related field.
✔ 2+ years of experience in MES implementation, production planning, or manufacturing IT systems.
✔ Expertise in MES platforms (Siemens Opcenter, Rockwell FTPC, Apriso, or equivalent).
✔ Strong understanding of PPC functions, shop-floor scheduling, and resource optimization.
✔ Proficiency in SQL databases, scripting (Python, VBA), and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
✔ Knowledge of SCADA, PLCs, IoT, and industrial communication protocols (OPC, MQTT, Modbus).
✔ Experience integrating MES with ERP (SAP, Oracle), PPC, and automation systems.
✔ Strong problem-solving, project management, and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

⭐ Certifications in MES, Industry 4.0, or Lean Manufacturing.
⭐ Experience with AI/ML-driven predictive analytics in manufacturing.
⭐ Exposure to cloud-based MES solutions and IIoT platforms.
