Finance Controller - Big4/Pipeline & Sanitation Infrastructure Management Firm - CA/CPA/ICWA (8-12 yrs)

A deep-tech startup focused on developing innovative solutions for pipeline and sanitation infrastructure management is hiring for the role of 'Finance Controller'

Experience : 8-12 years

Responsibilities:

Strategic:

1. P&L Management: Oversee and optimize P&L across current business streams and R&D projects, focusing on cost control, revenue growth, and profitability.

2. Strategic Financial Planning: Develop and execute financial plans, budgets, and forecasts aligned with company goals; prepare comprehensive financial documents for stakeholders.

3. Operational Efficiency: Drive process improvements, enhance reporting systems, and lead cost-reduction initiatives across manufacturing and operations.

4. Risk Management & Compliance: Establish and implement internal controls, manage financial risks, and ensure regulatory compliance.

5. Business Case Leadership: Evaluate and develop business cases for new product initiatives, offering strategic insights for investment decisions.

Operational:

1. Budget & Performance Management: Manage budgets effectively, track financial performance, and provide regular reports to senior management and investors.

2. Investor Relations & Compliance: Act as the primary liaison for investors, handle due diligence, ensure compliance with agreements, and address regulatory obligations.

3. Operational Cost & Cash Flow Oversight: Collaborate on operating plans, track costs vs. budgets, manage cash flow, and evaluate CapEx proposals with cost-benefit analyses.

4. Reporting & Tax Optimization: Develop KPIs, ensure accurate financial reporting, and work with tax advisors to optimize tax positions and ensure compliance.

5. Audit & Financial Statements: Oversee statutory/internal audits and ensure accurate preparation of financial statements in line with Indian Accounting Standards.

Qualifications:

1. Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or professional certification (e.g., ICWA, CMA, CPA) is a plus. Candidates with prior experience in BIG4 firms, investment banking, and startups are preferred.

2. Proven expertise in cost accounting, cost management, financial modelling & reporting along with financial analysis.

3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.

4. Proficiency in implementation of internal controls, budgeting, forecasting and planning.

5. Excellent communication and business acumen.
