Job Description

Job Title: Business Development

Location: Pune

Company: Span Pumps Pvt. Ltd

About the Role: We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Business Leader to drive and expand our renewable energy initiatives, with a focus on solar pumping, solar energy, and alternative power solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end development and execution of business strategies, leading from the concept stage to sustainability. This role requires a visionary leader with expertise in product development, business development, and managing large-scale operations across multiple sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client & Government Relations: Cultivate relationships with key clients, government entities, and industry stakeholders to enhance business partnerships and ensure smooth project execution
  • Strategic Leadership: Define and implement the long-term business vision and strategies for renewable energy projects, focusing on, solar water pumps, and alternative power solutions.
  • Business Development: Identify new business opportunities with various government nodal agencies, develop strong market penetration strategies, and drive growth in the solar Pumping and alternative power sectors.
  • Product & Market Development: Oversee product development processes and build sustainable business models across the solar and renewable energy product lines, including rooftop solar, solar water pumps, and off-grid solutions.
  • P&L Management: Take ownership of financial performance, including managing P&L and driving profitability for renewable energy projects.
  • Digital Transformation: Spearhead the digitalization of business operations, including supply chain management, project execution, and client engagement.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and high performance.
  • Risk Management: Assess and manage risks to the business, ensuring sustainable and profitable operations.
  • Government tenders knowledge

Key Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of the solar pumping sector, including government regulations and market trends
  • Proven experience in leading renewable energy projects, particularly in solar Pumping, , and related technologies.
  • Strong background in Government Sales, strategic planning, business development, and in the renewable energy sector.
  • Experience in building and managing high-performing teams and driving organizational growth.
  • Strong track record in channel development and key account management.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and develop new markets and products in the energy space.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in solar water pump business development and operations.
  • Familiarity with alternate power solutions and automotive industries.
  • Digital-first approach to business development and operations.
