Job Description

We are seeking a Sr. Engineer/Team-Lead for the Smart TV platform who would ordinarily work with a team developing solutions. He or she will frequently collaborate with an enterprise architect for strategic guidance and must possess a well-balanced blend of technical and business skills.

To review requirements, evaluate and recommend options and implement solutions for project and operational scenarios with varying degrees of complexity for smart tv platforms including Samsung, LG, Sony Bravia, and other web-based TV applications, the candidate will work with the technical team, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Education: B.E./B.Tech, MCA or Equivalent Computer Degree

Experience: 8+ yrs Proficient in web technologies (Smart TV JavaScript Frameworks, TAL, React JS, Node JS, API gateways, web services) and Cloud infrastructure .

Location: Bengaluru

Reporting Relationship: Platform Head, Digital Business

Business/Channel/Function: Digital

Roles & Responsibilities:

Technology Solution:

Finding the best tech solution among all possible to solve the existing business problems.

Describing the structure, characteristics, behaviour, and other aspects of software to project stakeholders.

Defining features, phases, and solution requirements.

Providing specifications according to which the solution is defined, managed, and delivered.

Processes Management:

Analyzing the technology environment

Analyzing enterprise specifics

Analyzing and documenting requirements

Setting the collaboration framework

Creating a solution prototype

Participating in technology selection

Controlling solution development

Supporting project management

Knowledge Management:

. Driving the science roadmap for web platforms & analytics services.

. Driving technical and architecture planning for the Web platforms.

. Thorough understanding of search engines and social platforms.

Should be a good team player & able to work independently under pressure.

Strategic thinker balanced with a grasp of details. Must possess the ability to switch between execution and strategy mode most effortlessly.

Technical:

Strong understanding of Smart TV platform development, including architecture, APIs, and libraries

Experience with app development for Samsung, LG, Sony Bravia TV (Tizen, Orsay, WebOS, Linux based Operating Systems)

Experience with software design patterns, such as MVVM and Clean Architecture.

Should have experience in Smart-TV JavaScript-Frameworks like TAL, React JS development with proven experience in developing scalable, reliable, and robust products.

Familiarity with cloud computing platforms, such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform

Understanding of software design principles and UX best practices

Proven ability to design and deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable Smart TV applications.

Good understanding of focus management on TV (building custom libraries for focus or any third-party libraries)

Should be knowledgeable with video player integrations with shaka-player, video-js, hls-js, dash-js or similar web players.

Understanding of Cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and CDNs is preferred.

Basic understanding of Video transcoding engines [ffMpeG, AWS Media convert etc..]

Should have knowledge of web technologies, APIs Gateways, Web Services for mobile apps and Payment gateways such as JusPay, razorpay , UPI, PayTM etc.

Experience with agile software development methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
