Software Development Engineer

Amazon is looking for a Software Development Engineer who is passionate and innovative to join our newly formed Engineering Services team. This team will be tackling some of our most complex and challenging projects and will deliver innovative technical solutions to advance the retail grocery industry.

Skills needed :

Expertise in object-oriented design and coding skills (Java and/or C/C++ preferably on a UNIX or Linux platform).
Experience developing distributed/scalable systems and high-volume transaction applications in a 24/7 environment.
Web services and web application/services development experience.
2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
