Netbackup Administrator

Job Responsiblities:Backup Strategy: Develop and maintain a comprehensive data backup and recovery strategy, including the selection of appropriate backup technologies and methods. Backup Infrastructure: Design, deploy, and manage backup infrastructure, which may include tape libraries, disk arrays, backup software, and cloud-based backup solutions. Backup Policies: Create and enforce backup policies, schedules, and retention periods to ensure data consistency and compliance with data protection regulations. Monitoring: Continuously monitor backup systems and perform routine checks to ensure data is being backed up successfully and can be restored as needed. Data Restoration: Lead data recovery efforts in case of data loss or system failures, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity. Security: Implement security measures to protect backup data from unauthorized access, breaches, and malware. Testing and Validation: Regularly test backup and recovery procedures to verify their effectiveness and readiness. Documentation: Maintain documentation of backup and recovery processes, configurations, and best practices. Reporting: Provide reports and status updates to management on backup performance and data protection. Capacity Planning: Monitor storage capacity and plan for future storage needs to accommodate data growth. Disaster Recovery Planning: Collaborate with the IT team to develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, including off-site backups and failover solutions. Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve issues related to backup failures, performance bottlenecks, and data corruption.

Desired Skill:Skills: NetBackup L2 + Veritas NetBackup - DD, MSDP, Veritas Flex (Storage) backup failure troubleshooting, recovery operations ( restoration - flat file, VMware, DB2) Good Exposure with data domain (DD Boost) Sub-Skills Backup Software (Veritas) Tape Libraries Cloud-Based Backup Solutions Encryption Security Best Practices Storage Protocols (e.g., RAID, SAN, NAS) Familiarity with Linux Operating System Familiarity with SQL Database Must-Have Skills Proficiency in backup and recovery technologies Strong knowledge of data protection and security best practices Experience with storage technologies and protocols Familiarity with multiple operating systems and database systems

Relevant Experience:03 Yrs to 05 Yrs Of Experience NetBackup L2 + Veritas NetBackup - DD, MSDP, Veritas Flex (Storage) backup failure troubleshooting, recovery operations ( restoration - flat file, VMware, DB2) Good Exposure with data domain (DD Boost) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). Proficiency in backup and recovery technologies, such as backup software (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Veritas), tape libraries, and cloud-based backup solutions. Strong knowledge of data protection, encryption, and security best practices. Experience with storage technologies and protocols (e.g., RAID, SAN, NAS). Familiarity with operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux) and database systems (e.g., SQL, Oracle). Problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure, especially during data recovery scenarios. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
