An Art Director produces visual solutions for the communication needs of clients, using a mix of creative skills and commercial awareness
Art Director s need imaginative flair, awareness of current fashions in the visual arts, working knowledge of the latest computer packages and an understanding of material costs and time limits, all of which can impact on the design
Appropriate medium and styles are selected in conjunction with the clients requirements
By providing quality visuals, it is hoped the profit margins of the client will increase, as potential customers become more informed or persuaded by the graphics
Responsibilities & Accountabilities-
Use a wide range of media, including photography and computer aided design
Produce accurate and high quality work
C ontribute ideas and design artwork to the overall brief
Keep abreast of developments in IT, particularly design programs
Work well in a team, with printers, copywriters, photographers, other art director s, account executives, website designers and marketing specialists
Generate and develop concepts and ideas which meet the requirements of the brief, meet client branding standards and are of a consistently high standard
Ability to explain supporting rationale for all work
Ability to challenge clients / internal teams when appropriate in order to raise the agency s creative offering
Works across all agency teams as appropriate to projects
Working with the Client Servicing and Planning teams regarding marketing and creative strategies for brand concepts, providing insight and challenging the brief as appropriate
Develop high level of understanding of communication requirements, strategy and client s perspective
Provide creative input to various projects and assignments
Be a Multi Tasking person and quick responses needed
Excellent communication skills to obtain and relate all information associated with account teams and studio personnel
