Accountant

Job Summary:

The Accountant is responsible for managing the organizations financial transactions, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and preparing accurate financial reports. This role involves maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and contributing to the smooth operation of the finance department.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Transactions:
   
• Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions in the accounting system.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and payments.
• Process payroll and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
2. Reconciliation and Reporting:
   
• Perform regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Generate reports for internal and external stakeholders as required.
3. Tax Compliance:
   
• Ensure accurate calculation and timely submission of taxes (e.g., GST, VAT, TDS, income tax).
• Assist in preparing tax returns and liaising with auditors or tax consultants.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.
4. Budgeting and Forecasting:
   
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and monitor expenses against approved budgets.
• Provide financial analysis and support decision-making by highlighting variances.
5. Auditing and Internal Controls:
   
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal control policies.
6. Financial Systems Management:
   
• Maintain and update accounting systems to improve efficiency.
• Ensure proper documentation and secure storage of financial records.
7. Compliance and Regulations:
   
• Ensure adherence to all financial regulations and organizational policies.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to financial activities.
