Automation Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities

• Program Development
• Design and develop PLC programs using platforms like Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric, Mitsubishi, or similar.
• Develop SCADA systems using software such as Wonderware, WinCC, Ignition, or similar.
• Write and optimize control logic, sequences, and interlocks.
• Develop human-machine interface (HMI) screens for operator interaction.

• System Integration
• Integrate PLC and SCADA systems with field devices such as sensors, actuators, and drives.
• Configure industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, PROFIBUS, PROFINET, OPC, Ethernet/IP).
• Ensure compatibility and seamless communication between hardware and software components.

• Testing and Troubleshooting
• Perform functional testing of PLC and SCADA programs to ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Identify and resolve hardware and software issues during testing and commissioning phases.
• Conduct simulation testing to validate control logic and system performance.

• Commissioning
• Deploy PLC and SCADA systems at customer sites.
• Perform site acceptance testing (SAT) and commissioning activities.
• Ensure systems are operational and meet customer requirements.

• Documentation and Support
• Create detailed technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, operation manuals, and program descriptions.
• Provide training to operators and maintenance personnel on system usage and troubleshooting.
• Offer post-commissioning support and perform system upgrades as required.

• Project Management
• Collaborate with project teams to define scope, timelines, and deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with project schedules, quality standards, and budgets.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors during project execution.
