Automation Manager

SUMMARY:

The Automation Manager is responsible for leading the strategy, design, and deployment of automation initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve system reliability. This role involves managing a team of automation engineers, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and staying updated on the latest automation technologies to drive innovation

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 5 to 10 years experience in a management role
• Extensive offshore experience working with teams in India
• Proven track record of building and managing high performing teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent Leadership skills and able to deliver on the timelines
• Able to guide and mentor members of the team professionally
• Handle 1-on-1 and provide critical, yet constructive, feedback on a regular basis
• Lead conversations and facilitate meetings to drive successful conclusions
• Focused on delivering what needs to be done
• Strong personal ownership and ability to set and meet high professional standards, flexible and responsive work style
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

EDUCATION DESIRED

• Bachelor s Degree or Equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Arts, Science.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Manage the day-to-day activities, goal setting, performance management, and development of the team.
• Able to Manage the 7 Phases of STLC.
• Knowledge on any automation tools.
• Provide expert knowledge of products and automation solutions to key accounts, with the goal of providing consultative scientific support.
• Provide technical expertise during regulatory audits as well as face to face interaction with regulatory auditors.
• Manage all automation projects according to agreed timelines and report on progress.
• Manage team budget, as well as operational cost of the Automation projects.
• Develop the Automation roadmap for Sequencing & Life Sciences through both internal stakeholder management and external vendor collaborations.
• Mentor team members and provide support for their career development goals.
• Directing the activities of the automation engineering group - provide direction & work priority.
