PHP Developer/Lead PHP Developer (5-18 yrs)

First Due Platform is a SaaS data aggregation, visualization, and mobile response solution, which helps emergency response agencies to respond more effectively to incidents of all kinds. The First Due is starting a new development center at Hyderabad, India and looking for core team members for the development of First Due platform

Role :

Lead PHP developer role requires the following attributes :

- Technical Leadership and Expertise : Design, develop ad oversee development of scalable, maintainable and secure PHP applications. Lead decisions on overall application architecture, API structure, database design and 3rd party libraries integration.

- Code Quality and Best Practices : Ensure adherence to code quality standards, best practices (ex - Solid Principals) and design patterns like MVC. Conduct and review regular code review process to ensure consistency and quality.

- Development and Troubleshooting : Act as a technical expert in PHP development and provide guidance to complex programming tasks.

- Troubleshoot technical issues in production by identifying root causes and implementing the fixes quickly.

- Performance Optimisation : Identify and optimize bottlenecks in the system for scalability and performance (e.g., caching strategies, optimizing database queries).

- Mentoring and Coaching : Mentor and guide junior and mid-level PHP developers, helping them develop their skills, troubleshoot issues, and grow professionally.

- Task Delegation and Management : Assign tasks to developers based on their strengths and the project requirements. Ensure that developers are meeting deadlines and producing high-quality work. Provide constructive feedback and guidance to improve the team's coding skills.

- Collaboration with Stakeholders : Communicate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Qualifications and Experience :

- Overall 10+ years of experience with 5 + Yrs PHP 7 or 8.

- 5 + yrs experience Java script & Type Script is preferred.

- 3 + Postgres or similar; strong SQL knowledge is preferred.

- Expertise in YII framework or similar like Laravel etc.

- Familiarity with PHP security best practices (e.g., SQL injection prevention, XSS, CSRF).

- Optimizing PHP performance (caching, query optimization) and optimizing Vue.js application performance (lazy loading, virtual DOM).

- Hands on experience in SQL query writing preferably in PostgreSQL database.

- Designing and building RESTful APIs in PHP/Yii, including authentication (JWT, OAuth2) and API documentation (Swagger, Postman).

- Proficiency with Git (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket) for version control, branching, and managing pull requests.

- Strong communication and leadership.

- Skills in coordinating across multiple teams.

- Work independently with communication skills

- Project lifecycle understanding and good experience of Agile methodologies

- Leading a small team is preferred.
