Job Description

Roles And Responsibilities.

Installation & Configuration :Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle server software and related products.

Backup & Recovery :Establish and maintain robust backup and recovery policies and procedures.

Database Design & Implementation :Handle database design, implementation, patch management, and version control.

Database Security :Implement and maintain database security by creating and managing users, roles, and privileges.

Performance Monitoring & Tuning :Perform database/application tuning and monitor system performance for optimization.

Documentation & Standards :Develop, maintain, and ensure adherence to documentation and database standards.

GoldenGate Management :Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Oracle GoldenGate solutions.

Capacity Planning :Plan for future growth and changes in database requirements.

Technical Support & Troubleshooting :Provide 24x7 support as required, addressing general technical issues and offering consultation to development teams.

Vendor Interaction :Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support and resolution of complex issues.

Problem Resolution :Analyze potential impacts of problems and implement corrective measures promptly, including root cause analysis.

Technical Skills Required.

Oracle Certification :Must be an Oracle Certified Professional DBA (11g or above), with hands-on experience in RAC and RMAN.

Performance Tuning :Expertise in Oracle and operating system performance tuning and monitoring.

Oracle GoldenGate :Advanced knowledge and experience in GoldenGate troubleshooting and configuration.

Backup & Recovery :Proficiency in Oracle backup and recovery scenarios, including managing and testing recovery plans.

Security Management :Strong understanding of Oracle security management and data integrity.

Data Migration & Change Management :Experience in code/data migration, database change management, and lifecycle data management.

Database Design :Excellent knowledge of physical database design and optimization.

Heterogeneous Environments :Experience working in complex, heterogeneous hardware and software environments.

Space & Archival Management :Proficiency in data archival and space management strategies.

Troubleshooting Expertise :Proven ability to provide technical troubleshooting and resolve high-priority issues efficiently.

Education.

6-12 years of relevant industry experience.
