Oracle Database Administrator

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Oracle Database Administrator (Level 2) to manage and maintain our Oracle database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will support the organizations data management needs by ensuring database performance, reliability, and security. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong foundation in Oracle database management and experience in troubleshooting and optimizing databases.

Key Responsibilities

• Database Management:
  
• Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database systems and related applications.
• Monitor and maintain the health, performance, and reliability of databases.
• Performance Optimization:
  
• Analyze and optimize database performance using tools and query tuning techniques.
• Perform capacity planning to ensure optimal database growth and usage.
• Backup and Recovery:
  
• Develop, implement, and test backup and recovery strategies using Oracle RMAN.
• Ensure data integrity and availability through proper disaster recovery planning.
• Security and Compliance:
  
• Manage database access and roles to ensure data security.
• Monitor and address database vulnerabilities and compliance with organizational policies.
• Troubleshooting and Support:
  
• Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks and failures.
• Provide Level 2 support for database-related incidents and collaborate with the IT team for resolution.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  
• Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, processes, and best practices.
• Generate regular reports on database health, usage, and performance.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Database versions (e.g., 12c, 19c).
• Experience with Oracle tools and technologies, including RMAN, Data Guard, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL.
• Familiarity with operating systems such as Linux and Windows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Oracle Database Administration certification (e.g., Oracle OCP).
• Experience with cloud-based Oracle solutions (e.g., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure).
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell scripting).
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and tools.
