Business Head

Job Summary:

The Business Head SMSE will be responsible for leading the SMSE business vertical, driving growth, and ensuring profitability. This role requires strategic planning, business development, and operational execution to expand the SMSE loan portfolio while maintaining asset quality. The incumbent will play a key role in product innovation, sales strategy, risk management, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Business Development

• Develop and execute a growth strategy for the SMSE segment in alignment with company objectives.
• Identify and expand business opportunities by tapping into new markets and customer segments.
• Establish partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including financial institutions, government bodies, and industry associations.

Sales & Portfolio Management

• Drive sales targets and ensure the achievement of revenue and profitability goals.
• Monitor portfolio performance, including loan disbursals, collections, and asset quality.
• Implement effective customer acquisition and retention strategies.

Risk & Compliance Management

• Ensure adherence to company policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management frameworks.
• Work closely with the credit and risk teams to maintain a balanced risk-reward ratio.
• Develop measures to minimize NPAs and improve collection efficiency.

Team Management & Leadership

• Build and lead a high-performing sales and operations team for the SMSE vertical.
• Provide training, mentorship, and performance monitoring for the team.
• Foster a results-driven and customer-centric culture.

Product Innovation & Market Analysis

• Continuously assess market trends, competitor strategies, and customer needs to refine SMSE products.
• Develop and introduce new financing solutions to enhance the company's offerings in the SMSE sector.
• Collaborate with technology and operations teams to streamline loan processing and service delivery.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: MBA/PGDM in Finance, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 8–12 years of experience in SMSE/Business Loans, MSME Financing, or a related field.
• Industry Exposure: Prior experience in NBFCs, Banks, or Fintechs handling SMSE lending is highly desirable.

• Good understanding of credit risk assessment and compliance norms.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
