Job Role :
Tax Planning and Implementation
- Undertake tax planning for the entire organization (domestic and international); structure the organization's operations to maximize tax benefits in line with the tax laws and to achieve the overall organization goals.
- Reviews proposed major transactions in their formative stages and advises or proposes changes consistent with the overall business purpose and strategy to achieve the best tax results.
- Advises management of the impact of new tax (direct and indirect - sales tax) laws, decisions, regulations and rulings and of proposed legislation in taxation and related areas.
Compliance
- Represents the organization and associates on tax matters when dealing with various legislative and administrative authorities. Proposes interpretation of laws, regulations and administration to further the interests of the Company and its subsidiaries and associates
- Organizes and supervises the preparation and submission of ruling requests, refund claims, protests and administrative appeals relating to tax matters; Conducts assessment of income tax, wealth tax and sales tax for the businesses, based on data obtained from Accounts
- Ensures filing of various tax returns under direct taxes and Sales Tax, makes provision for taxes and authorizes payment of tax dues; Resolves any issues related to domestic and foreign tax laws
- Keeps abreast of the tax regulations and seeks exemptions/benefits wherever applicable e.g. gets R&D exemptions, EOU, backward area and other benefits
- Coordinates for tax audits, R&D Expense audits, Transfer pricing studies and other audits as per tax laws
Payroll
- Ensures timely and accurate payment of salaries, incentives/bonuses, verification and reimbursement of employee related entitlements and salary advances/loans and accurate deductions thereof as per company policy for company and associate company employees
- Ensures that all necessary policies and procedures are adhered to while preparing payroll as well as related reports. Implements all internal control systems
Risk Management
- Reviews and manages the cash position, plans for adequate funds through cash and other financial forecasts to meet outstanding and planned commitments
- Implements strategic initiatives for raising and managing funds. Raises and manages long and short-term funds for capital expenditures and working capital requirements at the most optimal cost and ensures maximum risk coverage.
Retirement Benefits
- Ensures proper accounting and secretarial compliances of PF Trust, Gratuity Trust and Superannuation Trust
Regional Office administration and Private Trust (?)
- Ensure co ordination with all regional offices for activities related to taxation, compliance, payroll, retirement.

Perform the role of a people manager for the team (tbc)
- Manage and support recruitment, set KRA's for direct reports, monitor overall team's KRA's, conduct performance appraisal, ensure clarity and delineation of individual roles, appropriate delegation of responsibility
- Facilitate the development of subordinates through constant on and off the job learning, job rotation, etc
- Oversee staff deployment and drive motivation levels of the team, monitor staff welfare and facilitate complaint resolution, manage efficiency levels and drive timely delivery of all operational targets
Secondary
Ensure compliance to company rules, regulations, policies with respect to financial controls and limits, including controls on capital expenditures as approved by the respective authorities within the company
Implement the suggestions based on the Internal Audit findings for improvement of processes
