Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Farm Manager to oversee the operations of a 6-acre farm, which includes a small greenhouse. The ideal candidate will have the expertise to develop the land, grow crops efficiently, and use innovative agricultural practices to increase the farms revenue.

Key Responsibilities:

• Farm Development: Plan, develop, and implement crop cultivation on the 6-acre land to maximize yield and revenue.
• Greenhouse Management: Supervise and optimize greenhouse operations for growing high-value crops.
• Crop Planning: Select appropriate crops based on soil type, climate, and market demand.
• Operations Management: Oversee daily farm activities, including planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest management, and harvesting.
• Soil and Water Management: Conduct regular soil tests, improve soil health, and manage irrigation systems to ensure sustainable farming practices.
• Revenue Growth: Explore and implement strategies to improve farm productivity and income, including diversifying crops or exploring value-added products.
• Labor Supervision: Manage farmworkers effectively, ensuring timely completion of all farming activities.
• Market Linkages: Identify local or regional markets and establish connections to sell farm produce at competitive prices.
• Equipment and Resource Maintenance: Ensure all farm equipment and tools are well-maintained and in good working condition.
• Record Keeping: Maintain records of crop cycles, expenses, revenue, and any other operational activities for analysis and improvement.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Proven experience in managing farms or agricultural operations.
• Strong knowledge of crop cultivation, pest control, and modern farming practices.
• Experience with greenhouse management and high-value crops is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of soil health, irrigation systems, and agricultural equipment.
• Ability to plan and execute long-term farm development strategies.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage a team of workers.
• Practical knowledge of local agricultural practices and market trends.
• Good communication skills to interact with vendors and buyers.
