Hydroponics Grow Operator

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Hydroponic Indoor Grow Unit Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of an advanced indoor hydroponic facility. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in hydroponics, electrical systems, and plumbing to ensure optimal crop growth and smooth functioning of the grow unit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Hydroponic System Management:
  
• Oversee the installation, operation, and maintenance of hydroponic systems, including nutrient delivery and irrigation systems.
• Monitor and adjust nutrient levels, pH, and EC to ensure healthy plant growth.
• Manage planting, growth cycles, and harvesting schedules for various crops.
• Facility Maintenance:
  
• Maintain all electrical systems, including grow lights, fans, and HVAC systems, ensuring they operate efficiently.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing systems, including water pumps, filtration systems, and nutrient delivery lines.
• Regularly inspect and service equipment to minimize downtime.
• Operations and Record-Keeping:
  
• Track crop growth, yields, and environmental data for continuous improvement.
• Maintain records of electrical, plumbing, and hydroponic system maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with safety and hygiene standards within the facility.
• Optimization and Innovation:
  
• Identify opportunities to improve crop yields, reduce costs, and enhance system efficiency.
• Implement new technologies or techniques to optimize indoor farming operations.
• Team Collaboration:
  
• Coordinate with other staff or management to ensure smooth workflow and effective problem-solving.
• Provide training or guidance on system operations to junior team members if necessary.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Hydroponic Expertise:
  
• Strong knowledge of hydroponic farming systems, nutrient management, and indoor crop cultivation.
• Experience working with NFT, DWC, or similar systems is highly preferred.
• Technical Skills:
  
• Hands-on experience with electrical systems, including lighting and climate control.
• Knowledge of plumbing systems, including water pumps, valves, and filtration units.
• Basic troubleshooting and repair skills for equipment and infrastructure.
• Additional Skills:
  
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• Familiarity with environmental monitoring systems for temperature, humidity, and CO₂ levels.
• Basic understanding of automation systems is an advantage.
