Transportation Manager/ Assistant Manager

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Manager/ Assistant Manager - Transportation Operations to oversee and support transportation activities within FMLM. In this role, you will coordinate with multiple departments to ensure the smooth execution of transportation operations, focusing on procurement, vehicle arrangement, and timely delivery. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in transportation operations and process improvement.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Procurement & Vehicle Coordination:
• Procure transportation rates from the market and arrange vehicles as needed for long-haul movements.
• Coordinate with the transporter to ensure timely vehicle deployment.
• Transportation Monitoring & Supervision:
• Monitor and control transport movement to ensure smooth operations.
• Track vehicle movements and provide updates to the CSU team for customer notifications.
• Collaboration & Coordination:
• Work closely with the ILS team for daily planning and seamless execution.
• Coordinate with the transporter, CSU, and Operations team to ensure timely and efficient execution of tasks.
• Operational Efficiency:
• Ensure the stacking and offloading of containers according to the SMART Yard plan.
• Maintain a quick turnaround time for vehicles and containers.
• Customer Relations:
• Address customer-related issues to ensure smooth transportation operations.
• Prepare and maintain daily movement reports for both customers and transporters.
• Track additional charges, including detention and other transport-related costs.
• Process Improvement:
• Suggest and implement cost-effective transportation strategies to improve operational efficiency.
• Ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures with no deviations.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• Qualification:
• Graduation in any discipline.

Work Experience:

• 5 - 12 yrs

• Skills & Competencies:
• Strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Proficient in tracking and reporting transportation movements.
• Customer-focused with the ability to resolve operational issues efficiently.
