Serrala - System Administrator - Server & Network Infrastructure (3-6 yrs)

Position Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Administrator to join our IT team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of our Server & Network infrastructure.

This role requires a strong background in Infrastructure Management, Monitoring, Backup and Disaster Recovery and a deep understanding of system architecture.

Key Responsibilities :

Hybrid Infrastructure Expertise :

- Design, implement, and manage Windows, Linux server environments, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.

- Monitor system performance and proactively address issues to ensure optimal functionality.

- Conduct regular system backups and implement disaster recovery plans.

- Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues promptly and efficiently.

- Demonstrated hands-on experience working with complex environments that encompass both on-premises and cloud infrastructures.

Access Management Expertise :

- Administer Active Directory and Entra ID, including user account management, group policies, and domain services.

- Implement and manage server virtualization technologies, such as VMware.

- Experience with implementing and managing access control mechanisms including Single Sign-On (SSO), Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), and user provisioning workflows.

Monitoring :

- Need to have good understanding and experience into Monitoring tool like Zabbix and Grafana.

Backup and Disaster Recovery :

- Need to have better understanding of Backup and DR processes.

- Good to have experience with Druva and Arc Server backup technology.

Networking Expertise :

- Good to have experience with Networking concept and understanding of Firewall, Switches like Palo Alto, Aruba etc.

ITIL Principles :

- Possess a strong understanding of ITIL principles and best practices.

- Experience in implementing ITIL methodologies to enhance system performance, incident management, and service delivery is essential.

Server Orchestration Knowledge :

- Good to have knowledge of configuration management principles to maintain consistency and enforce desired configurations across servers in an environment.

- Also, knowledge of Endpoint Central tool along with knowledge of scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell to create custom automation scripts and enhance orchestration processes.

- Windows 2008/2012/2016/2019 Servers, patching and upgrades, Antivirus Administration, Knowledge about VMware, backups.

- Knowledge of Zabbix monitoring and JIRA Service Desk Management.

Interpersonal and Communication Skills :

- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, developers, and system administrators.

Security Best Practices :

- Awareness of security best practices and the ability to implement security measures within orchestrated server environments.

Agility and Self-Organization :

- The IT landscape is ever evolving, and you must be adaptable to change.

- You should be comfortable working in an agile environment, capable of self-organizing, and prioritizing tasks effectively.

Qualifications :

- Virtualization Experience : Experience with virtualization technologies mainly with VMware and containerization platforms (Docker, Kubernetes) would be aplus.

- Scripting and Automation : Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, etc.) and automation tools for streamlining repetitive tasks and improving system efficiency.

- Cloud Expertise : Experience in migration, upgradation infrastructure. Mainly Azure.

- Networking Expertise : Experience in handling network infrastructure, mainly VPNs, MFA etc.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Certifications : Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, ITIL V4, or related certifications would be advantageous.

- DevOps Understanding : Basic knowledge of DevOps principles and practices, including continuous integration, continuous delivery (CI/CD), and infrastructure as code(IaaC).

- Technical Lead Experience : Nice to have experience with leading a small size team, mainly with a Technical Lead role.

- Automation Tool : Nice to have experience with Manage Engine's Endpoint Central Automaton tool.
