William O'Neil India - Senior System Engineer - Virtualization (7-12 yrs)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior System Engineer to join our team.

The ideal. candidate will have extensive experience in managing systems, applications, hardware,. storage, and networks, with a strong emphasis on virtualization and cloud services.

The role requires expertise in planning and executing on-premises to cloud migration projects, particularly on Amazon Web Services (AWS), while ensuring system stability, performance,. and security.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, implement, and manage Windows and Linux-based server environments,. including user management, performance tuning and monitor.

- Deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise applications and web/application servers such as Apache, Nginx, IIS, and Tomcat.

- Manage server hardware, including diagnostics, upgrades, and replacements.

- Oversee virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM), ensuring optimal performance, availability and upgrade of virtual environments.

- Configure, provision, and maintain SAN, NAS, and DAS storage solutions, including RAID setups.

- Design and manage Active Directory Domain Services, Load Balancers, and DNS.

- Implement and manage SSL certificates, including renewals and troubleshooting.

- Design and manage cloud solutions on AWS and Google Cloud Platform.

- Plan and execute migrations of on-premises applications, databases, and infrastructure to the AWS cloud, ensuring minimal downtime and data integrity.

- Develop and maintain scripts for task automation and optimization (e.g PowerShell, Python, or Bash).

- Backup and restore critical systems.

- Implement security best practices for systems, networks, and applications, including vulnerability assessments and patch management.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support projects and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

- Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and compliance.

Qualifications and Skills :

- Extensive experience in system administration and infrastructure management.

- Strong expertise in virtualization platforms like VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.

- Hands-on experience with AWS and Azure cloud services, with a focus on cloud migrations and hybrid cloud architectures.

- Proficient in managing enterprise storage systems and high-availability solutions.

- Proficiency in automation tools is an added advantage (e., Ansible, Terraform,.Chef).

- Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).

- Knowledge of VLAN, Firewall, Routers, VPC & Subnets with hands on experience using tools like Wireshark or tcpdump.

- Familiarity with security principles, including encryption, IAM, and best practices. for securing cloud environments.

Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve complex technical issues efficiently.

Effective communication skills with the ability to document technical processes and collaborate across teams.
