Job Role : Import Documentation
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation of Import Documentation Checklists:
Prepare and maintain accurate checklists for import shipments, detailing all required documentation, including Bills of Lading, Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, and other essential documents.
EnsurPe that each checklist aligns with current customs regulations, import requirements, and specific customer instructions.
Coordinate with clients, vendors, and carriers to verify that all necessary documents are collected and complete.
Bill of Entry Filing:
File Bills of Entry (BoE) with customs for import shipments in a timely and accurate manner.
Ensure that the Bill of Entry includes all necessary details, such as tariff classifications, value of goods, and proper documentation.
Track the status of Bills of Entry and monitor for any discrepancies or issues that may delay customs clearance.
Maintain a record of all filed Bills of Entry for reference and future audits.
Customs Compliance:
Ensure that all import documentation is in compliance with current customs regulations and local laws.
Resolve discrepancies or issues related to Bills of Entry with customs officials and clients, ensuring smooth and prompt clearance of goods.
Keep abreast of any changes in customs laws, tariffs, and import/export regulations.
Documentation Filing and Record Keeping:
Maintain organized records of all import-related documents, including Bills of Entry, invoices, packing lists, and clearance reports.
Ensure that all import documentation is easily accessible and properly filed for audit purposes.
Liaise with customs person and clients to address any issues related to import documentation and Bills of Entry.
Provide timely updates to customers regarding the status of their shipments and any required actions.
Assist in coordinating with the operations team to ensure timely clearance
Generate regular reports on the status of Bills of Entry Role & responsibilities
