Job Description

TE (Transactional and Edge) RD Director

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Global RD and based in Bangalore, this RD Director role is counted on demonstrating one s transformational leadership to lead RD organization, and drive development of Global products, platforms and process innovation through collaboration with other RD hubs and peer functions.

Engineering Finance and Business Acumen

Self-starter, highly motivated individual, open communicator, enabler

Executive communication and effective influencing skills

Knowledge of power electronics and embedded systems techniques

Experience Required:

Overall experience of 15+ years in engineering domain (Electrical, Electronics, Embedded System or Software Engineering)

Minimum 5 years of experience in leading a multidisciplinary research and development team of over 30 people.

Minimum 10 years of experience with demonstrated success to work in a multinational company operated through its global supplier chain and high-volume production.

Qualifications Required:

Master s degree in in Electrical, Electronics, Embedded System or Software Engineering from a prestigious university.

Responsibilities Expectations from the Hiring Role:

To provide RD leadership, vision and guidance to an engineering team having the mission to create profitable, differentiated solutions for a key offer portfolio of Schneider Electric. The primary role of the person filling the position is to collaborate with Business Leadership and support RD Vice President to develop the Vision for new and emerging solution needs, while strategically evolving the India RD team skills to creatively and diligently planning the Offer Technology Roadmap, defining customer centric new generation product platforms, and refining RD metrics and offer creation process.

Build a high performing world-class India RD team with strong innovation passion to define and execute strategic new platform development projects.

Lead and guide team to provide invention disclosures and support of intellectual property development.

Drive a culture of Customer Centric Innovation, agile execution and Engineering Excellence, challenge team to continually mature skill and efficiency, and apply best engineering practices to deliver reliable, reusable, cost competitive products and platforms that satisfy our Global and Local customer needs.
Engage all teams frequently to communicate mission and business updates, celebrate successes, brainstorm problems and inspire teamwork.

Strengthen market leadership position globally through providing localized customer application and continuous quality improvement supports with agility.

Provide operating capital expense budgets, responsible for adherence to budgets.

Act as an ambassador of Schneider Global R^D and a trusted advisor in front of global customers and peer functions. Provide leadership and contributions to site-wide initiatives.

Drive and sponsor technology anticipation and feasibility projects in strategic alignment with global product development plans.

Manage continuous improvements of Design Standards and offer creation process. Drive synergies among global RD centers. Formalize best practices and share among global RD centers.

Drive development and deployment of common building blocks and global platforming strategy to expedite offer development speed, improve offer quality and reduce design cost.

Provide resources and technical guidance to proactively improve field quality and support customer issues.

Establish strategic partnership with universities and research labs. Leverage governmental funding and emerging technologies to drive new business growth opportunities.

Responsible for developing and maturing Global multi-generation technology roadmap and ensuring alignment with Global multi-generation product roadmap.
